Photographer - Joseph Brown (Facebook), @Byoath (Instagram)

Miss R: Who is Remey Williams? When did your journey in music begin?

Remey Williams is a singer/songwriter/musician from Camden NJ. He loves to make good music and to inspire people!
I feel like it’s a blessing to create music that not only exemplifies a person’s feeling/emotions, but also helps  cure a person’s hurt or
brighten their day just for a couple mins or maybe forever.

My musical journey began in 3 places: My father’s studio, church,
and college (Wilberforce University)

Miss R: Do you come from a musical family?

Absolutely (he laughs)! Both of my parents and siblings are all musically inclined. It pretty much runs in the family. My
Father (Jimmie Williams) is the bass player for the O’Jays (40 Years) and my mother used to sing in church EVERY Sunday.

Miss R: Who did you listen to growing up?

Growing up I listened to Musiq Soulchild, The Roots, Jill Scott, The O’Jays
(Thanks Dad), D’Angelo, Bilal, Lauren Hill and
Eric Roberson....the list goes on. I listened to a lot of Philly soul artist because that
was pretty much all I knew at the time.
Philly gave me a different touch on music. On the hip hop side, thanks to my brother Jermaine, I enjoyed Mos Def, Common,
Jay Z, and Nas
.

Miss R: What came first for you, singing or songwriting?

Singing came first, for me; writing came later on.

Miss R: Do you have a set process when writing a song?

It depend. Sometimes, I will have a full song in my head as if I’m wearing headphones listening to it. But, lately I’ve been
collating with various songwriters and producers, to expose myself to more creativity and perspectives to create music.

Miss R: You don't just sing and write songs though...you play the drums too! How long have you played? Do you play any other instruments?

Yes, I do play drums! lol Drums were apart of my life long before singing, actually. I started playing drums at age 10. I play
the piano just enough for production work!

Miss R: Your new single 'Far Away' is out August 10th. Such a heartfelt song. Was this a personal song? What was the inspiration behind it?

Project Art Work - Nyla Ro Hendrix

Thank you so much! This song is personal. It's about the passing of my mother. It is the story of when I had a show with my
brother Dayshawn Mojica. I went to go get my charger out of the car, during our break. On the way back to the venue I heard a
voice tell me to ‘Button up my jacket’, but there was no one in sight. I knew it was my mother.

Miss R: Do you have a EP/Album to follow?

I have an EP that will be released Late September/Early October Entitled T.C.O.L (They’ll Catch On Later)!

Miss R: Are you currently performing? If so where?

Yes, I will be embarking on the Far Away Tour:
10/18 -Dayton, Ohio
10/19 -Cleveland, Ohio
10/21 -Los Angeles, California

November -UK-TBA
*TBA -Montreal, Canada
* TBA -Toronto, Canada

Miss R: Where do you want your music to take you?
What's your main goal?

I want my music to take me to a place where I can reach and inspire millions internationally. I want to be remembered as one
of the greats that made a huge impact on music; that had significance. My main goal is to work with film companies such as
Disney Pixar, Universal, ALL of them really! Making music for films/cartoons/commercials is a big goal of mine.

Miss R: What was the last song you listened to?

The last song I listened to was ‘Claustrophobic’ by PJ Morton feat Pell.

Miss R: If you had to pick ONE genre of music to listen to for the next 10 years what would it be?

It would have to be Pop/Indie Pop.

Miss R: What 3 things could you not live without?

3 things I can’t live without:
God
Music
Loved ones

Miss R: What keeps you motivated?

Wow, so many things keep me motivated! Having peace, beating fear everyday, challenging myself to be better, following
my heart and mind; that fact that I didn’t give up on my dream, having the privilege to do what I love FULL TIME , wanting
better for myself as a man and my future family.

Miss R: What other creative interest outside of music do you have?

I haven’t in a while but, I can draw.

Miss R: What 3 words would your closest friends/family use to best describe you?

My friends would describe me as happy, hardworking, with a great sense of humor.

Miss R: What's your life motto?

“My life motto is: They’ll Catch On later.”
